Post-Conviction & Case Review

Ruden Investigations LLC provides licensed investigative support for attorneys, advocates, and others reviewing post-conviction, innocence-oriented, or long-tail criminal matters in the Raleigh-Durham area and throughout North Carolina.

Post-conviction and case-review work often requires careful attention to detail, patience, and a disciplined review of what was documented, what was missed, and what may still be capable of follow-up. These matters may involve older records, incomplete files, prior witness statements, investigative gaps, timeline issues, or questions about whether additional factual development is needed.

Led by a retired Deputy Chief of Police, licensed North Carolina private investigator, FBI National Academy graduate, and college instructor in criminal law and evidence, Ruden Investigations brings investigative experience, courtroom awareness, and a fact-focused approach to case review.

Services may include:

  • Review of reports, records, transcripts, and available case materials

  • Development of case chronologies and investigative timelines

  • Identification of investigative gaps, inconsistencies, or unresolved factual issues

  • Witness location, background research, and follow-up interviews

  • Scene review, photographs, and documentation when locations remain relevant

  • Review of prior investigative steps and law enforcement procedure issues

  • Public-records research related to parties, witnesses, locations, or case history

  • Preparation of organized investigative summaries for counsel or case-review teams

Ruden Investigations does not promise outcomes or conclusions. The purpose of this work is to help identify what can be verified, what remains uncertain, and whether additional factual investigation may assist counsel or a reviewing organization.

The goal is to support careful, objective case review through disciplined documentation, practical investigative judgment, and a clear presentation of facts, gaps, and follow-up options.
